Ranked Match Changes Notice

A deck-building duel with a wish on the line! MetaVersus WISH Online!
Hello, Duelists! This is the MetaVersus development team.

To make matches more fun, the “Ranked Match” mode running during the current test period has been heavily reworked. Please see the details below:

When the Ranked Match changes take effect, all data registered in Ranked Match will be reset. Please keep this in mind while playing.

The current Ranked Match will be fully reset at official launch.

Seasons

Unless otherwise announced, each Ranked Match season will last 3 months, and the sub-seasons (Monthly) within each season will last 1 month.

  • Monthly (30 days)
    • Currency and items that reset every month can be earned from “Ranked Rewards.”
    • When a Monthly period ends, the following takes place.
      • Rank reset to Beginner
      • ‘Comeback Bonus’ applied based on your highest tier from the previous season
  • Season (90 days)
    • Special season rewards that reset every 3 months can be earned from “Ranked Rewards.”
    • When a season ends, the Monthly settlement takes place and the rankings are finalized.

Scores Used in Ranked Match

The previous two scores and one stamina, split into Trophy, Grit and Pro Trophy, have been combined into a single type: “Trophy”. (Grit and Pro Trophy have been removed) Trophies do not reset when a season ends and are kept permanently.

Trophy

You receive 1000🏆 when you first join Ranked Match, and you gain or lose Trophies based on match results and your Rival's skill, using an Elo rating system.

Reference: How Trophies Are Calculated (tap to expand)

Basic Calculation

  • All Trophy calculations are rounded to the nearest whole number.

Trophy change = K × (r − E)

  • Result (r) is 1 for a win and 0 for a loss

Expected win rate E = 1 / (1 + 10^((Rival's Trophies − Your Trophies) / 400))

  • The type of result (HP Win, Surrender Win, Special Win, Decision Win, Forfeit Win) makes no difference.
  • Trophies have no upper or lower limit (only the ‘Low-End Protection’ below applies).

K Value

Determined by the total number of Ranked Matches you have played so far. This count keeps adding up and does not reset between seasons.

Total Matches PlayedKWin / Loss vs. an evenly matched Rival (50% expected win rate)
1 ~ 10 matches80+40 / −40
11 ~ 30 matches60+30 / −30
31+ matches48+24 / −24
Example changes by Trophy difference with your Rival (K = 60)

−100+22−38
−200+14−46

Matches Against AI Substitute Rivals

  • For AI substitute Rivals, a fixed Trophy value based on Difficulty (Easy 980 / Normal 1100 / Hard 1400) is used as the Rival's Trophies, and the same formula applies.
  • Matches against AI substitute Rivals use half the K value.

Tiers

Your tier is a rank given each season based on your current form, and rewards are given based on your final tier when the season ends.

  • All tiers use the “Set Record” system.
  • Each win or loss increases the count in your Set Record by 1.
    • Up to Major 2, the ‘Comeback Bonus’ applies: wins in the tier one step below your highest tier from the previous season count as 2 wins in your Set Record.
  • The higher the tier, the higher the required win rate.

Promotion Match/Relegation Match

  • From Minor 1 onward, your Ranked Match results (win/loss) are recorded in your Set Record, and once you reach either the target number of wins or losses, a Promotion Match or Relegation Match begins.
    • Win a Promotion Match to move up to the next tier. Lose, and you stay in your current tier.
    • Win a Relegation Match to stay in your current tier. Lose, and you drop to the previous tier.
    • Once a Promotion Match/Relegation Match is over, your Set Record resets regardless of the result.
    • From Beginner to Rookie, there are no Promotion Matches. You move up as soon as you reach the target number of wins, and there are no Relegation Matches.
    • In the Master tier, there are no Promotion or Relegation Matches, and you stay in the tier until the (Monthly) reset.
