Private Match

What is a Private Match?

Private Match is a Friendly match mode where you create a private room and invite the Rival of your choice to duel.

Entering a Room

When you enter Private Match, you can get in one of two ways: Create Room or Join Room.

Join (Guest Duelist)

Enter on the right
Where to find the Room code

To enter a room that's already been made, enter the Room code under “Join Room” on the right. The Host in the room knows the Room code, so ask them for it!

Create Room (Host Duelist)

Enter on the left

To create a room, tap Create Room on the left.

Room Settings

The Host can change the Room Settings when creating the room or before a match starts. The available settings are listed below. (Standard Private Match settings are marked with ✅ after their names.)

Preset

Set all of the room's rules at once. (Careful: changing this setting will overwrite any other room settings you've edited!)

Match Length

■ Turn Time Limit: Sets the time limit for each turn.

120 sec. / 30+70 sec.• Turn 1: 120 sec.
• From turn 2: 30 sec. per turn + 70 sec. of reserve time for the whole match
◦ 30 sec.: Refreshed every turn.
◦ 70 sec.: Starts counting down once the 30 sec. runs out. It does not refill during a match.

When the time limit reaches 0, you move straight to the Cleanup Phase, your turn ends, and you receive an 'Idle warning'. Any remaining reserve time also drops to 0.
Unlimited ✅Play with no time limit.

■ Inactivity Warning Limit: ‘Warnings received for running out of time’: once N of them stack up, the match ends immediately and the Duelist who received them takes a ‘Forfeit’ loss. (If you end your turn normally with time left, your idle warnings reset to 0.)

  • This setting is only available when “Turn Time Limit” is set to ‘120 sec. / 30+70 sec.’

■ Turn limit: When the Second Player finishes their Nth turn, the match is forcibly ended and the Duelist with more HP is awarded a ‘Decision Win’.

Free pick ✅
Pick for each otherThe Duelist you pick is used by your Rival.

• If you pick a Duelist that isn't owned, the Duelist who made the pick spends the Trial Ticket. (The Rival doesn't spend a Trial Ticket even if they don't own the Duelist picked for them.)

Candidates and ban/pick: Before each match, pick N candidate Duelists. Then, right before the match, you go through the same Duelist swap → ban/pick (0 to M Duelists) → final Duelist selection used in “Ranked Match” mode.

  • Once both players are in, the Guest presses the READY button at the bottom right to get ready, and the Host presses the DUEL! button at the bottom right to start the match.
  • The bottom left of the lobby shows the Record in this room. (Your wins are the yellow number.)

Selecting your Duelist

(If the rules require choosing a Duelist,) press the “Duelist Select” button below to pick the Duelist you'll use in this match.

Selecting a Duelist You Don't Own

You can still select and play Duelists you don't own under certain conditions.

  • Spend a Trial Ticket
    • Spend one of your Daily Trial Tickets or Trial Tickets to play that Duelist.
    • If the selection rule is ‘Pick for each other’, the Duelist who picks and hands over the Duelist spends the ticket.
    • If the selection rule is ‘Candidates and ban/pick’, a Trial Ticket is spent right before the match, only for the final chosen Duelist.
    • If the selection rule is ‘Random Selection’, no Trial Tickets are spent (since Duelists are drawn only from those you own).
  • Lending Duelists
    • If you pick a Duelist you don't own but your Rival does, you can duel without spending a Trial Ticket.
  • Friendly Master Key
    • If the Host has a “Friendly Master Key”, every Duelist in that room is treated as ‘owning all Duelists’ and can play any of them freely.
    • Master Keys can be purchased with Jewels in Shop - Other, or on the ‘Master Key’ screen shown right before a Private Match.
      • 1 day: 10 Jewels
      • 7 days: 70 Jewels
      • 30 days: 300 Jewels
